Stuart Beattie to Pen 'Daughter of Smoke and Bone'

No stranger to tackling stories with a supernatural feel, “Pirates of the Caribbean” scribe Stuart Beattie is set to adapt the fantasy “Daughter of Smoke and Bone” for Universal. The book was a highly sought-after property when it was put on the market last year and with Roth and Beattie now attached, it’s clear Universal views this as a tentpole property with franchise potential.
