Continuing the Journey - The Art of the Hammock
Day one: Above my second floor room is a deck with a garden shading two hammocks and two deck chairs and table. I contemplate trying the hammock but my brittle bones still have not relaxed under the sun enough to attempt slinging my feet over the strings, carefully balancing my body into the tangle web and then lifting my feet to begin my vacation. Day two: I try untangling the hammock to open the web to a more accommodating bed. My rooftop paradise is only above room but the access is down a spiral staircase with sixteen narrow stone steps, then up sixteen more spiral steps to a landing that leads up twenty-one steps. Day four: I flee from the web and do not attempt it. I walked kilometers on beach and through town. Day three: I get in but do not relax. Above that is the baby blue sky with white fleece floating lazily. I flee to the beach the sand is softer. Day five: I determine to fight the beast. I clink to the strings as I slide to the red tile floor.2 Person Hammock - Bookshelf
