PhotoHunt: Bad Hair

I thought of not joining this week’s PhotoHunt because I initially had no idea what to put out for the theme.
Until I saw this picture. I took it last year in downtown New York, where the World Trade Center used to be.
The blue thing the grandpa was leaning on contained information on the soon-to-be-built Freedom Tower on the site.
He seemed to be living off the street, although he could be a passionate musician who just wanted to share his talent in public.
I wonder how he is now.

iba ka na talaga. may mga “i took this picture in downtown new york” ka nalang na moda. hahaha.
dale: yep. when i first saw him i thought he looked like santa.

Makes me wonder how he lived his life way back.. I mean, why did he ended up living in the street playing a musical instrument?
hmmm..we can make up a thousand stories from that..

this is a nice take. he seemed not oblivious of the surroundings. but it makes me sad, too. brings back memories of my father when the first attacks of alzheimer took him down the streets until one day we saw him sitting at one of the posts of Mercury Drug Store staring blankly at passers by with his long sleeves and gray pants. …

i really can’t remember if this grandpa was sane, or if he was a beggar. i can only remember watching him, and then he sat there. may we be kinder to people like them.
